*Adae and Akwasidae Festival-Ashante Region
Adae means “resting place “, the day the traditional rulers go to the stool room where the spirits of the Ashante ancestors rests. This festival is held every sixth Tuesday. During this festival the golden stool is brought out to the ‘Asantehene’ king. It is celebrated among the Ashanti’s but everyone is most welcome.
Centre for National Culture and Arts Centre- Accra
About 2 minutes walk from the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum is the location of the Centre for National Culture and Art Centre where traditional handicrafts in various forms from allover Ghana. There is an arts and crafts bazaar and a traditional textile market with souvenirs that have been crafted in clay, wood, leather and metal. |
